October 2020 – wet and rather dull

Raw data courtesy UKMO

So it never quite rained hard enough in 2020 to challenge the record wet October of 1903. It ended up being the fifth wettest October since 1862 and the was the wettest October in the UK for 20 years. Coincidentally it was the fifth dullest in the UK since 1929 and the dullest since 1976. Temperatures across the UK were very close to average and there were few mornings with frost around.

The eagle eyed amongst you will notice that there are no charts for the 28th or the 29th of the month. I think that was due to comms issues at Exeter and the charts never made it to the GTS. If you find copies please let me know.
