I speculated earlier today about how the vigorous low on Friday might be named storm Atiyah, but it could be pipped to the post by Thursday’s low that’s forecast to dumbell into the Western Isles around lunchtime with gusts of 80 mph and which I totally missed earlier. Here’s what the ICON model thinks will happen.
Interestingly the latest Met Office T+72 forecast chart takes the low further north without the dumbelling.
I’m having serious doubts about the accuracy of The ICON model which was way over the top with this one at T+72, the low to the NW of Scotland never really intensified with no gusts higher than 50 mph. Top marks to the Met Office model once again!
