Rainfall conveyor

Yesterday’s situation was always going to produce some heavy totals thanks to the sharp frontal contrast driven by a very powerful jet stream aloft. There’s a distinct line of 24 hour observed totals of 40mm or more in a line from the tip of south west Wales to Flamborough head, the totals from the weather radar images have surprisingly underestimated the totals along this line. There’ll be some more rain to come today before the cold front finally pushes south. Meanwhile yesterday was a lovely sunny day back here in Ross-shire for a change.
