Record high temperatures in Siberia

There’s a lot of media activity about the recent high temperature in Siberia at the moment. It looks like a record maximum temperature has been set at Verkhoyansk of 38.0°C. A temperature of 38°C would be as much as 16°C above the LTA. The graph above plots the reported three hourly air temperature at Verkhoyansk since the beginning of June 2020, so the maximum has eluded it. Verkhoyansk as you may know is often considered as the northern Pole of Cold. It looks like Wikipedia have been quick on the mark updating their climate data for the city.
