RIP Solar Cycle 24

Scientists and astronomers are still arguing about when solar cycle 24 came to an end. There doesn’t seem to be an exact date because the two sunspot cycles can intermesh, as one ends and the other one begins, but I think there is no doubt that solar cycle 24 has now deceased. Cycle 24 was never a very active cycle as sunspot cycles go, and forecasts are already suggesting that solar cycle 25 will be little better. You can clearly see that the sun has gone very quiet during the last 30 years or so, and who knows we may be at the start of another Maunder minimum period.
