Scotland – warmest, coldest, sunniest place in the UK yesterday

Warmest Place – Kinlochewe 19.7°C

Coldest Place – Aboyne -4.9°C

Sunniest place – Kinloss 14.0 hours

What a day! The third in a row across Scotland. I was going to add another header saying that Scotland had also been the driest in the UK, but unfortunately a passing seagull urinated in the AWS at Inverbervie as it was flying past resulting in an erroneous reading of 0.2 mm. There was also a trace of precipitation measured at Loch Glascarnoch from melted hoar frost and dew by what must be the most sensitive AWS rain gauge in the whole Met Office network.
