Second warmest April on record

The month of April 2019 was the second warmest in the CRUTEM estimated global temperature series with an anomaly of +0.779°C above the 1951-1980 LTA.

It was also second warmest in the shorter GISS and the JMA series as well.

The CRUTEM and GISS series have been parallelling themselves closely in the last twenty years, but the linear trend in that time is much steeper in the GISS series that CRUTEM.
