Signs of an easterly during early March

It will be interesting to see how this high pressure scenario plays out in the next week or so. I’m still clutching at straws looking for a late taste of winter – I don’t prescribe to meteorological seasons! Even though it’s getting late in the day the ECMWF model has given me cause for some hope, because in its last few runs it’s maintained high pressure to the north of IONA whilst running a shallow low running into southern Germany by T+240. The Met Office long range forecast in contrast believe that high pressure will persist across the south and things will remain mobile further north and west.
