The case of the missing second warning for heavy rain…

There is very little in the way of development and deepening of the low that tracks from the bay of Biscay E’NE along the English Channel later this morning.

The chart below is for rainfall totals for today (ICON), and it’s certainly forecast to be a wet day along southern counties. But the Met Office really have no excuse as to why they’ve not issued a second yellow warning for the northwest of Scotland, especially as today’s heavy rain is following hard on the heels of wet days on both Monday and Tuesday.
