The chances of a cold October

Now that we have got unfettered access to the ECMWF NWP graphics I thought I would look at what they think the next ten days will be like. You don’t need to be a Tomasz Schafernaker to realise from the above animation of the ECMWF hires model that the next ten days look distinctly chilly, with no sign of an indian summer. It’s been a while since we have seen a really cold October across the UK the last one being in 1992.
