- Last Friday I noticed the first signs of this imminent cold weather event in the ECMWF models.
- This Tuesday I questioned why their initial yellow warning wasn’t amber.
- On Wednesday I questioned why their updated amber warning didn’t start at 18 UTC.
The Met Office have taken my advice and brought the amber warning forward for heavy snow for Scotland in this morning’s rather late update to 18 UTC today. Yes I’ve gone completely off my rocker with the headline, but what the hell, if I can’t blow my own trumpet to the few faithful followers I have no one else will, and I do rather like the song Nostradamus by Al Stewart even if all the credit as a seer in the forecasting department does have to go to the various NWP models that I watch.
