The latest on Wednesdays low

The gradients around the deep low forecast for Wednesday don’t look just quite a fierce as they did in the latest run of the four major models that are publicly available. They’ve also shifted the core of the strongest winds further south at T+96 and left Scotland out of it, but the western Isles may get clouted in the northwesterly as the low pulls away. The models still produce some kind of trough to the south of the main centre that tightens the gradient as it moves eastward in the early hours of Thursday morning, but apart from that, this is just a slightly deeper version of any extratropical low that you would likely see in late winter across the UK.
