The return of April showers

Despite high pressure still maintaining its grip to the north the atmosphere is set to destabilise from the middle of next week, as daytime temperatures trigger April showers, and bring an end to this current dry spell, except maybe in the far west and southeast corner of IONA. According to the ECMWF model it all comes about behind a shallow low that tracks south across Scotland during Monday and down into southern England by late on Tuesday.
