The summer of 2019 in central England

The mean temperature for summer 2019 in central England was 16.44°C which was 1.08°C above the long-term average and considerably cooler than last summer (+1.82°C), Even with three record short hot spells in June, July and August which bolstered up the mean temperature. In fact summer 2019 has seen four separate day maximum records and two high minimum records broken, as well as the 25th of July setting a new record for the highest maximum (34.1°C) and highest mean (25.2°C) for the whole CET daily series that started in 1878.
