Topsy turvy overnight lows

The mild air running across the top of the anticyclone, named Ekart by the BSU, made for a very mild night across all parts of northern Scotland, with 18-06 minima as high as 8.6°C above the LTA. Meanwhile southern stations saw minima 6°C lower than the LTA. Experts say this has nothing to do with AGW of course, and is quite normal for January typically the coldest month of the year in IONA, but they do hint that it’s somehow connected to the jetstream, as most things are these days.
