The Met Office have promised things will turn milder from the north during Thursday, and any snow will turn quickly to rain. That’s according to their latest snow warning they’ve just issued this morning. Their track record this winter identifying where and how much snow will fall is not at all good, but they seem convinced that the snow level will rise to 500 M amsl on Thursday over Scotland. It’s true that this current cyclonic setup has never had much deep cold air in it, with the poor old 528 dam thickness line performing a series of twisted contortions around IONA over the last few days. So far the Met Office seemed to have tried to play this cold spell down and got caught out in the process, so it will be intersting to see if things do turn milder during Thursday as they say it will.
