Visible satellite image 8 November

A wonderful visible satellite image today across the country today. There are a couple of low level convergence zones visible on it, one aligned NNE-SSW down St George’s channel, and another aligned NE-SW which snakes from the southern North Sea, down through the English channel and across the Cherbourg peninsula. There are only a few showers along the zone in the channel, but the active trough running southwest across central northern England at the moment may have caught out a few forecasters this lunchtime. More millimetres of rain exactly where you don’t need it.
