Warmest April globally

The NASA estimate of the global temperature anomaly during April 2020 was +1.16°C above the 1951-1980 LTA, that made it the warmest April since 1880, and more importantly it knocked April 2016 of top spot. So much for my idea that global temperatures were slowing down over the last two months in my DIY global temperature series! So after wiping some bits of egg of my face this morning, all I can do is keep calm and carry on as always.

According to my shorter 30 year linear trend in the graph above, April temperatures are rising globally at an astonishing 0.209°C per decade. I would have thought that the chances of a record warm 2020 have now received a massive boost.
