Exceptionally Mild in Eastern Scotland
Another lovely afternoon with long sunny spells across much of eastern Scotland with anomalies this lunchtime as close as ten degrees above the 1981-2010 long term average. Temperatures are already close to 17°C across central parts of Scotland. The higher temperatures and broken cloud are no doubt the result of subsidence around the large anticyclone [1041 hPa] to the west of Ireland. Remaining cold in the southeast of England and East Anglia.
