West is best

That old weathercaster cliché west is best is a neat way of summing up Bank holiday Monday this year in the UK, that’s if the 00 UTC run of the ECMWF model is correct. Down the east coast it looks decidedly cold and cloudy on Monday, much as today, with rain across the south and sunnier skies further west with help of shelter from any high ground. The anticyclone thats building on Monday to the northwest of the UK is not sticking around though, and as its slips eastward into the continent there are signs things might warm up again as winds veer southerly, and the weather becomes more unsettled with bands of rain moving up from the south.
