-10.6°C at Glascarnoch at sunset

Themograph Loch Glascarnoch

After a bitterly cold day across the Highlands with maximum temperatures even in the bright sunshine of -5°C, temperatures have already plummeted to -10.6°C at the AWS above Loch Glascarnoch at sunset this afternoon. Winds have already backed into the southwest further west over the outer Hebrides during the day as upper and medium cloud from the frontal system to the west begins to spread in. I wonder just how cold it could get at Glascarnoch before the increasing wind and thickening cloud halts the fall in temperature there?
