12 month rainfall to end of July 2019

Raw data from UKMO

It looks like 12 month gridded regional rainfall totals to the end of July 2019 have returned a little closer to normal after a short dry spell. The driest region in the UK over the last 12 months was the South East of England with rainfall totals of 689 mm or 93.3% of the 12 month LTA to the end of July. In comparison wet spells in March, June and July have boosted totals in Northwest England to 1,095 mm or 107.1% of the 12 month LTA making it the wettest region. It won’t be long before there are calls to use the canal system to move water that’s not caught by any of the numerous lakes and reservoirs down to the Capital.
