14-15 Jan 2021 – overnight minimum temperatures

Ravensworth in North Yorkshire was the coldest place in IONA overnight with a minimum of -10.5°C [18-06] over a good covering of snow. I did see on Twitter though that the temperature continued to fall after 6 am as it often does in the winter, and the 21-09 climatological minimum was reported as -11.8°C, which nearly beat the -12.1°C from Loch Glascarnoch on the 6th of January. For all I know the temperature may have continued to fall after 9 am at Ravensworth, but that might be pushing it even for North Yorkshire half way through January.
