16 Jan 2021 – Saturdays snow

In contrast to the very slow moving occluding triple point system of the last 36 hours or so, the frontal system on Saturday is certainly not going to be hanging around long. How much snow it will being put down in places north of latitude 53° north is anyone’s guess. Meteogroup seem to think that it will be “hill snow”, which is a kind of Roger the Dodger term, if they expect that the snow is only going to fall on high ground they should at least state a a snow level which would less vague.
