There was a large diurnal range at Tain in Easter Ross overnight of 18.4°C, from a maximum of 13.5°C yesterday afternoon, to a minimum and moderate frost of -4.9°C produced. That might make it a bit tricky down on the links greens first thing this morning for the golfers! I ran out of time yesterday to post this forecast from the Met Office mobile application for the Highlands and Islands region for Saturday. I would have said it was a typo ‘east’ for ‘west’ but the forecast before this one also made a comment about ‘cloud lingering’ in Easter Ross, so I guess the next guy to write the script may have just copied and pasted the previous one. Needless to say it was a gloriously sunny and mild February day at least in our part of the east Highlands.
