2 Mar 2021 – low cloud

Just a quick look at this morning’s low cloud that has invaded from the North Sea overnight in the visible satellite images. The height of the stratus in the south is not that low and is probably kept up in part by the strength of the easterly. It looks like there is some drier continental air starting to advect northwestward into the southeast, but I think it may be a good while before we see it clear in the northeast. I’ve just realised that there are few countries apart from Ireland the UK and Poland that allow cloud heights to escape into the public domain these days.
