A frenzy of occlusions

I don’t know if there is a collective noun for a number of occluded fronts on a weather map, but I like the sound of a frenzy of occlusions, it has a nice ring about it. It seems to me that the forecasters down at Exeter must be on a bonus for the number of occlusions that they can cram into any one analysis chart they produce, judging by their latest efforts since the weekend they must be looking forward to a large Christmas bonus for all their efforts. My favourite chart of recent days is the 18 UTC for the 2nd of November which has a veritable spiral of occlusions wrapped around low Benedikt – science Jim but not as we know it.
