I still can’t understand why Storm Christoph hasn’t been awarded a warning for strong winds yet, hell it’s already got one for heavy rain, flooding and blizzard. There is marked troughing on the cold front on Thursday evening as the cold air finally spills south in the latest NWP T+48 forecast charts. Looking at the new run of the models they all seem a little warmer, and the low less intense than it was yesterday, so it maybe the snow in the northeast is a little more knife edge, especially on low ground. It will be interesting to see what the Great Oz and his team come up with in the way of warnings this morning. Will they perhaps (a) add one for strong winds? (b) adjust the area of the amber warning for heavy rain? (c) modify the area for blizzards in Grampian?
