A remarkably sunny, warm and dry first half of April

What a remarkably sunny, warm and dry start it’s been to the first fifteen days of April 2020, especially that is away from the north and northwest of Scotland where it’s been considerably cloudier and colder. Sunshine totals are already well over 120 hours across many places in the south but less than half that over northern Scotland. Rainfall is much below average in all areas but especially so in the far east and south. Mean temperatures are close to normal in the northwest of Scotland, but across some places across in the south are +3°C above the LTA.
