A very mild November followed by a colder December

According to the ECMWF long range model, 2M temperatures in November will continue to be very mild across the UK and NW Europe until the last week of November before returning to normal. Temperatures will continue to fall away and the second week of December is forecast to be colder than average across northern and eastern parts of the UK, the anomalies look a good fit for an anticyclonic or easterly regime, and by this time temperature across Scandinavia will have returned to normal, and Poland, Denmark and northern Germany will be colder too. I’m sure once the Daily Express and Daily Mail get a sniff of what’s going on, the headlines of these once esteemed publications will again be featuring the words beast and east in the run up to lockdown Christmas 2020.
