Apr 2021 – Rainfall

The driest place in the SYNOPs during the exceptionally dry month of April 2021 was Shoreham in Sussex with just 0.6 mm of rain. I haven’t investigated why there are only 17 dry days here, perhaps the SYNOP didn’t always report a 7 group, or maybe there were just a large number of traces. The April drought into May though at three stations in the Isle of Wight, Jersey and Kenley. The wettest place was Loch Glascarnoch with 58.7 mm, but I think this total might be a little on the light side with missing accumulations from the snow that fell during the first part of the month.
