April 2020 Precipitation

April 2020 was a dry month across the whole of the UK particularly eastern counties. It would have ended up being abnormally dry month if hadn’t been for an unsettled last week. The driest places where in the northeast of England and Scotland, Boulmer had 26 dry days and only 1 mm of rain during the whole of the month. Unusually much of Scotland ended the month much drier than anywhere in southern England thanks to the anticyclonic nature of the weather pattern with pressure remaining high over western Norway for a good part of the month.
