Autumn rainfall 2019

It’s certainly been a very wet autumn in some places, but then again in others it’s been rather dry up till now. You can find the usual favourites for wettest place in the UK in the top 30, with Capel Curig at number one with 627 mm (24.68″)of rain since the 1st of September. Shoeburyness in Essex is the driest of the 150 SYNOP stations with just 112 mm (4.40″) of rain, but it’s noticeable that most stations in the northeast of Scotland feature in the driest places. I wish I had more detailed climate data so I can produce an anomaly chart, but a complete list of daily totals for the last 30 years from these 150 stations I don’t have and can’t afford.
