British weather never fails to amaze

I didn’t see Anglesey listed as a possible hotspot for today in this morning’s BBC weather forecast, I thought I heard Helen Willetts say that the highest temperatures would be somewhere in the south or east, and that the maximum would be 25°C and not 27.1°C plus as it was at 14 UTC – never mind there’s always tomorrow. That temperature at Valley is close to the all time record highest maximum for the 21st of September.

One other notable thing about today’s weather was the wind on top of Cairngorm, it’s especially, and at 12 UTC it was blowing a steady storm force 11 with a mean of 59 knots, with gusts to 79 knots, and all under the same cloudless skies.
