Elvis conjures up some hill snow on Sunday night

There looks a strong possibility of a spell of hill snow, with the chance of snow down to lower levels, across a large part of central and northern Scotland on Sunday night and going into the early hours of Monday morning, that’s according to the latest run of both the GFS and ICON models and all thanks to low Elvis. A breakaway low is expected to form on the occlusion that Elvis the parent low (and still to the southwest of Iceland at this time) is powering through western parts of IONA later on Sunday. This new breakaway low is expected to deepen further as it tracks across northern Scotland on Monday, eventually pulling down northerly winds across Scotland as it does so by Tuesday.
