Interesting contrast between UKMO and Met Eireann

I applaud Met Eireann’s efforts in trying to unify the weather forecast across the whole of Ireland, after all the weather (and Covid-19) doesn’t pay any heed to our political and national boundaries, and affects us all equally. So why don’t our national Met services share their climate data they gather and forecast data they produce? At this point please don’t think because some Met Services have come together in naming storms is a good example of how nations can unite, because I think the goings on this winter have shown what a hopeless disaster that now is. Hopefully in the years to come when we have become more enlightened we’ll look back at climate charts such as this as a perfect example of just how short sighted and insular we were.
