Missed warning

It seems the Met Office must have exceeded their quota of yellow wind warnings because the peak gusts overnight, which were higher than those from low Klaus earlier in the week, didn’t even trigger a warning at all. I saw on the BBC TV weather that winds had gusted to 99 mph at the Needles, which is quite ironic really, because this is the ‘goto’ station they often use to justify any storm they’ve just named even though it has a non-standard exposure. Many stations had gusts of 50 to 60 mph overnight and around ten of them had gusts well in excess of 60 mph. I suppose they can’t win them all and this one just slipped through the net.
