More like autumn than summer

It was more like early autumn than summer across most of Scotland today, with temperatures three or four degrees below the long term average and an inch or more of rain over the much of the Lothian area. I seem to recall that the NWP models up until yesterday where taking the bulk of the rain from low Dana further south and east than were most of it ended up. I also notice that the BBC weathercasters are already egging up temperatures of 30°C or higher on Friday and completely forgetting about the here and now.
