Much warmer now cold front gone through

Counter intuitively it feels much warmer across our part of northeast Scotland after the passage of the cold front earlier this morning than it did at the same time yesterday morning, and at last we can see some blue sky after too overcast days of haar with temperature no higher than three or four degrees Celsius the breeze from the northeast having finally broken up and dispersed the low stratus. I reckon that’s how it will feel in other eastern regions that have been plagued by fog and low cloud from the North Sea for the last three days or more. Dew points are sub-zero of course and the freezing level will have lowered to ~1500 feet. It looks like we are in for a couple of very cold night as the anticyclone slips southeast into the North Sea over the next day or so.
