Where will the focus of the rain that falls from next week’s forecast thunderstorms be? There is not a great deal of agreement in the latest run of the three latest NWP model. There does seem to be a plume of high rainfall that stretches from the Midlands bending either just west of north or just east of north towards Scotland depending on which model you look at. There is a distinct marked edge to it in the west that suggests that Eire and the extreme southwset of England will escape the worst of it. If memory serves this track is not too dissimilar to the track the thunderstorms in the last thundery spell in the middle of June took. One thing about it is that today looks likely to be the last day of any fine weather in more northern areas.
