On a hot day, how do meteorologists get an accurate reading of the temperature?

It is quite obvious that Sarah has never been to the top of Cairngorm because I’m afraid the Stevenson screen that’s used in St James Park isn’t exactly the same one that’s used on top of the Cairngorm mountain. A Stevenson screen wouldn’t last very long up there and so the Met Office have to rely on a Severe Icing Environment Synoptic Automatic Weather Station [SIESAWS]. She definitely picked the wrong site to compare the St James Park Stevenson screen to, and by the way the slatted sides are actually double louvres.
