A beautiful sunset late this afternoon with some intense reds and crimsons in it. The picture I grabbed believe it or not was looking east. I frustratingly missed the best of it, caught up as I usually am in programming, but then I remembered Weather Watchers and found a couple of pictures on there that did it far more justice. There is obviously a lot of wave activity going on across the north of Scotland which is clearly visible in the satellite imagery with striations in the medium cloud from the very strong northwesterly winds at height. The surface wind at the moment is very gusty here in Strathpeffer but really quite mild.
