The block returns?

After a week of cyclonic weather it maybe that the blocked anticyclonic regime we just waved goodbye may be set to return by the middle of next week with high pressure building across the country and eventually preferring to stay to the north, with lower pressure to the south and another spell of easterlies across IONA. The usually caveat applies and that is of course – if the midnight run of the ECMWF model proves correct. Rambling on (as I often do) we might be well positioned to see another spell of cold northerlies to coincide with the Ice Saints feast days in May (11-15th of May) and continue the rather frosty spell that’s affected much of April despite the warmth by day.
