To follow up an air frost in Altnaharra at Sutherland in July, Loch Glascarnoch bagged one for August with a 18-06 minimum of -0.4°C last night. Meanwhile at the other end of the country the temperature fell no lower than 60°F at Portland Bill. The featured image is one that I took at 0420 BST this morning as the sky was just starting to lighten up towards Dingwall in the east. I am sorely tempted at the moment to invest in another Davis Vantage Pro weather station just to see how cold it gets in the strath and how wet it is.
