Hello again. The trouble with taped weather forecasts on the BBC News channel is that if you make a slight mistake, or even a big mistake, it’s then repeated ad nauseum every half hour for the next four hours. And so it was this morning, with Carol Kirkwood getting her metres for snow level and centimetres for snow depth all mixed up. Her two hundred centimeter snow level might not be accurate for the mainland but it’s certainly accurate for the Shetland Isles at the moment where light snow showers continue to fall.
I think Carole must have noticed that she had fluffed it because at 10.56 am she had redone it putting slightly more emphasis on any snow. She did mention uncertainty about the snow on Saturday which the Met Office have just knocked out a yellow warning for the Midlands for.
