Vague periodicity in annual rainfall in SE England

I am forever looking for cycles in weather graphs, my eye just seems to catch them no matter how vague or real any periodicity is. There does seem to be some kind of a 6 or 7 year cycle to the peaks of 12 month rainfall in the southeast of England over the last 30 years or so (ignore the 2000 in the charts title that’s down to my programming!). If it’s true the current increase in 12 month rainfall should peak anytime soon. I’m sure that I once read in an article in the dim and distant past of hints of a short span cycle such as this for UK rainfall.
