A sunny and warm start to the first ten days of April 2020 across the bulk of central Europe. Europe has been anomalously warm now since December, and it never seems to end. If anomalies like these continue, I would say that mainland Europe can look forward to a series of protracted heatwaves once we get into the summer months. Cooler weather is affecting much of Iceland and northern Scandinavia, as it is for much of the Mediterranean, especially around Greece. Here’s a chart of IONA in a bit more detail.
