Wendy not that windy as Met Office modify their warning

The Met Office eventually did modify their yellow wind warning for strong wind which they originally had issued on Friday morning, but it took them till 0827 BST this morning to do it! That meant the warning had already been in force for over eight hours, with the central belt of Scotland seeing none of the gusts of 50 to 60 mph that it warned about. This was already self evident in yesterday’s NWP output and in my opinion should have modified then – not very professional – but at least the day shift did try to make amends by updating it as soon as they got in. As it turned out low Wendy was just not that windy.
